Description:

about 2.5 inches high, 1.5 in diameter. 2 branched stalk. Seemed spongy not gilled underneath.

Habitat:

growing on dead thick branch on the ground.

Notes:

I don't know much about mushroom ID (except that it is complicated) because of the spongy underside, I think it may be some kind of Stalked Polypore.
