Tilia × europaea

Description:

Tilia x europaea is a large deciduous tree with meduim-sized rounded thinly hairy leaves. Yellow flowers appear in clusters and are highly fragrant.

Habitat:

Naturally occurring hybrid between Tilia cordata (small-leaved lime) and Tilia platyphyllos (large-leaved lime). That species is largely cultivated in Europe.

Notes:

Also called linden or basswood in North America.
