Tilia × europaea
Tilia x europaea is a large deciduous tree with meduim-sized rounded thinly hairy leaves. Yellow flowers appear in clusters and are highly fragrant.
Naturally occurring hybrid between Tilia cordata (small-leaved lime) and Tilia platyphyllos (large-leaved lime). That species is largely cultivated in Europe.
Also called linden or basswood in North America.
