American Herring Gulls

Larus smithsonianus

Description:

2 Gulls frolicking around. At first glance, I thought one was feeding the other... but upon closer examination, the one in the air seemed to be biting the other's beak. Unsure whether this is typical breeding behavior or something else. It did not seem aggressive.

Habitat:

Lake Erie, just off shore.
