This recently hatched chick was sitting alone in the nest but the parents were not far away.
The nest is in an epiphyte palm on a branch just a few metres above the ground.
Picture 2 shows the epiphyte with the chick just visible in the centre.
Wetlands reserve.

Yes, not disclosing the location is a wise precaution. So glad the chick has fledged. Thank you.
Both parents were sitting in nearby trees watching the nest and had been seen going in and out of the nest site so I just studied the site from various angles Picture 3 was the first one taken from the opposite side, later I found the gap showing the better views. As far as I know only one chick which has since fledged. We were asked not to disclose the location until after it fledged.
However did you spot it in the first place? It is so well hidden. Just one chick?
