Jamides alecto manilana
A newly-eclosed beautiful caerulean, it's wings are still wet and it could not yet fly away, so I had the best time taking its pictures! Jamides alecto (C. Felder 1860), called the Metallic Cerulean or Metallic Caerulean, is a small butterfly that belongs to the Lycaenids or Blues family. Jamides alecto manilana Toxopeus, 1930, is the subspecies existing in Luzon, Catanduanes, Cebu, Leyte, Marinduque, Masbate, Mindoro, Mindanao, Negros, Panay, Samar.
Spotted on a white ginger lily plant, in the garden.
