Very prickly plant with a spiny-winged stem. Flowers, pinkish-purple. Introduced/naturalized. Considered an invasive/noxious weed in many places.

Habitat:

Meadow.

Notes:

Edible, fibers from the plant can be used to make paper. Some reported medical uses as well.
