Texas Bumelia Borer

Plinthocoelium suaveolens spp. plicatum

Description:

Odd-looking while also beautiful, this shiny green and red beetle has only made its presence known to me one time, although I’d like to see and photograph it some more.

Habitat:

On the leaf of a young Elm tree.

Notes:

This is called a Texas Bumelia Borer on the Texas Entomology website: http://texasento.net/Plinthocoelium.htm
