Description:

Upper surface of wings mostly black; on inner edge of hindwing is a black spot centered in larger orange spot. Male has yellow band near edge of wings; female has row of yellow spots. The blue is quite faded on this one.

This butterfly has all the markings of a Palamedes Swallowtail. Note the stripe on the hindwing in photo 2 and stripes, not spots, on the thorax and abdomen. :-)
