Pseudozizeeria maha
The Pale Grass Blue (Pseudozizeeria maha) is a small butterfly found in Asia that belongs to the Lycaenids or Blues family.
A Japanese study showed increased abnormalities in individuals of this species subjected to radiation following the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear disaster. This is part of a continuation of the study on the recent migrations of the species to northern climates, where several factors lead to the increase of abnormalities, including cold weather found in Tohoku region.
thanks venusflytrap11. Bayucca has come up with very convincing evidence that this is a Pale Grass Blue! So I changed the name.
Wow, thanks bayucca for all the links... I am convinced!! Bit scary about the effects of Fukoshima. My son lives in Japan!
