Silene gallica

Description:

A herbaceous plant with five-petalled deep pink/maroon flowers. The flower stalks stood upright about a foot off the ground. Leaves long and obovate, clustered around the nodes. Plant had long internodes.

Habitat:

growing wild on a grassy verge. This plant is native to Eurasia but is seen in other countries in temperate zones.
