Corvus corone
This pair of carrion crows were sitting stoically on the top of a naked oak tree during heavy snow falls this morning. Their nest can be seen on the third picture. These birds are resident within their range and will stay for the whole winter.
A residual patch of mixed forest with pine and deciduous trees.
This young pair built their nest last May. The tree is right opposite my place and I can observe them every day. They should lay eggs at the end of winter. After shaking snow off one of the birds flew off on the 4th shot.

I'm glad you like the series Braulio Alejandro Rivas Tapia! Thanks!
Wow! I love the mountains, the winter, the snow, and... The landscapes. Great photos!
Thanks for your kind words J and Adarsha!
Beautiful!
This is one of the most beautiful series I've seen, especially that last photo. Superb work, Daniele!
Thanks Satyen!
Incredible composition!
Welcome to winter Sergio! A lot has stopped, but much is still going, albeit quietly. Don't hope for insects though:-) I actually took all these shots from inside, after opening the window.
This is a wonderful series, Daniele. Living in a tropical part of the world, I can't express what I feel seeing this. Like everything just stopped and is waiting for... something... to happen. Nature here (almost) never stops...
