Black Cactus Fly

Description:

A Telostylinus fly, also known as Cactus Fly or Banana Stalk Fly. This is one of the 2 Telostylinus species I have seen in Borneo. This species is rarer than the common yellow Telostylinus lineolatus. Long legs, short antennae and triangular body which is typical of the Neriidae family.

Habitat:

All around Maliau Basin Study Center. I found this feeding on some "invisible" substance on this wooden railing beside the Maliau Dining hall.
