Moth (Cocoon)

Description:

Spotted this silky, yellow, Moth cocoon attached to the plastic greenhouse door. Inside the greenhouse was a small white moth. Hairy moth species usually mix their hairs with silk, making a flimsy cocoon. The cocoon houses their pupae. When emerging from these cocoons, moths secrete a fluid that softens the silk. Moths often exert great effort to break through cocoons or push their way up through the ground.
