Looper Moth

Description:

My housemate raised a caterpillar to become a moth. Brown and tufted with greenish, olive eyes and small, metallic wing markings. He ate kiwifruit vine leaves as a green, looper caterpillar.

Habitat:

Urban garden in this case.

Notes:

Not sure if this is a Chrysodeixis subsidens or a Chrysodeixis eriosoma. From what I can tell you need to know if the fore and hind wings are separate. It was about an inch long but without poking the long since released specimen, I can not know more about its wings.
