Description:

Pear-shaped. Developing pour on top. Spore mass white. smooth, single or in cespitose clusters on wood. Fruiting body 2-3 cm high. thick, outer skin smooth by sometimes apex has scattered hairs, soon minutely aerolate (finely cracked).

Habitat:

Old weathered spore sacs may be seen on wood at any time of the year. July - November. Very common.
