Ooh, I would feel weird interfering with something in a national park!! ; ) I don't know about those links, the pics don't look like mine... (but I seriously have no idea about fungi, I wouldn't know what to look for)!
These fruiting bodies are saying 'Please help me spread my spores' so I have no problems (if there are several) in knocking one over for a better shot :-)

So do you think I should I go with Polyporus badius or Polyporus sp.?
looks like a healthy growth. Definitely a polypore from your pics- they don't have gills. argybee's suggestion might be right !

Oh, I wondered if I should take more pics of the underparts, but I really didn't want to lie down on the ground...
That's an interesting one. Might be like Black-footed polypore - Polyporus badius. Needs better view of underparts.
