Attacus lorquinii
Caterpillar on its last instar.
Lowland and highland forest, populated and cultivated land. Specimen origin - Pueblo de Panay Biodiversity, Roxas City, Philippines.
Beautiful images! This is not A. atlas, but rather one of the other three Attacus spp. found in the Philippines. A. atlas is restricted to more northern Islands (closer to Taiwan). This is likely A. lorquinii, which is also a better physical match to this larva. A. lorquinii has the prominent yellow bumps, lacking in the larvae of A. atlas.
