Zebra Spider Wasp

Turneromyia sp

Description:

see reference

Habitat:

see reference. This one was hunting spiders along the side of a block of apartments

Notes:

There was not much time for a shot. This little guy saw the camera and decided it must hide spiders so every time I tried to get a shot it hopped or hovered in front of the camera and then wandered all over it. That is fairly normal for spider hunting wasps. A huge Orange Spider Wasp used to check the entire front of my shirt and jeans each time she discovered me in her territory. Anyway, it makes it difficult for the camera to focus no matter delightful their presence is!
