An unidentified soldier fly. Typically longish and metallic, this fly superficially resembles a wasp.
Observed on Bougainvillea sp. along the boundary of a large semi-urban yard & garden and a disturbed patch of remnant forest.
These photographs were taken in afternoon light with a flash.
