Project Noah Nature School
Eumenidae
approx. 1/2 inch diameter
spotted attached to Spanish moss hanging on old house in semi-wooded area
Thanks for the reminder, Ava; I've added it to the mission.
Karen, these are the first black pots I've seen as well. These were in an area with rich dark soil. But there is a great deal of variety in this area: http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/164... (surface coquina sand)http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/101... (red sub-surface coquina)http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/101... (riverbank mud)
Please consider adding this spotting to the Animal Architecture mission at http://www.projectnoah.org/missions/8082...
Wow ... Black pots! Cool. Must be darker sand nearby? I love finding these little pots. I never let my hubby knock them down - even if they've already hatched out. I know--- I'm pathetic ! :)
