Saw 2 of these guys, one on the creek edge which was a male, and the other which looked to be a female hiding underwater.

Not only do we not have yellow-bellied sliders in Texas, they look very different than your turtle here. Also, note the notched upper lip with the cusps on either side. That's a dead giveaway for a Texas cooter.
