Plain Tiger Butterfly Egg

Danaus chrysippus

Description:

I watched a Plain Tiger butterfly flying round a Giant Milkweed, barely stopping to lay her eggs here and there. The egg hatched! (Added a photo of the small caterpillar) I had it on some Milkweed on my desk. In fact there were 2 eggs that hatched, but one of the caterpillars was killed by a medium sized black ant. The other one is steadily growing. Now, on day 15 from the egg being deposited, it's a half inch long.
