Description:

The adult male has distinctive multi-coloured iridescent plumage and red eyes,with a distinctive white flare down the neck. The female, which is less patterned like most female ducks, always has a white eye-ring and a whitish throat. Both adults have crested heads.

Habitat:

They are cavity nesters and are found near water in the eastern half of the US and along the western coast of North America.

Really clean shot and nice spotting! It's quite hard to get close to this ducks when they are in the wild.
