Agelaius phoeniceus californicus
This is a bicolor meaning it is only black with a red shoulder patch. Not like the Tricolored that has a yellow band below the red. Bill is black and eyes could be brown or yellow
In the breeding season can be found in wet places like fresh or saltwater marshes that has tall grasses and cattails. Also can be found in rice paddies or in meadows, and grain fields.
