Rafflesia patma
This is one of the 15 species of Rafflesia in Indonesia.. R. padma lives as a parasite on the Tetrastigma vine. Not as big as R. arnoldii, but I like it, it looks very similar..
I found this at Pangandaran Nature Reserve. Endemic to Java Island.
the 4th and the 5th pics are the bud of the flower, it takes about 2 weeks to become the flower, and the flower will last for 5 until 7 days..

Oh wow! What a great series of images Jason. Lucky you!
Sounds like a lot of them! It won't be for a few years but yeah, will be great to come back.
Owh what a pitty, I found a dozen of them, from the buds until the rotten one.. Great, I'm looking forward to seeing you again Dan!
No, I didn't go there. It was in my original plan but I couldn't find any good information on them there and it was a long way out of my way to go, so in the end I skipped it. I'll have to go with you next time!
Thanks Dan.. You went there also, didn't you? It took about 2 hours walk in the jungle to see them..
Wow awesome! You're so lucky to see this Jason.
