Jewel Bug

Scutelleridae Family

Description:

These brightly coloured shield bugs are amongst the most striking colourful insects. They're often confused with Beetles because of their appearance. They can be easily distinguished from beetles by looking at the shield on the back which is continuous and the mouth parts.

Habitat:

While looking for herps in the evergreen forests of Arunachal Pradesh in the North-east India, I came across this shining armour crossing the path.
