Musotima ochropteralis

Musotima ochropteralis

Description:

A tiny but very attractive moth with chrome yellow wings and wormlike wavy patterns of silver and black. Wing span was 14mm so body length looks about 8mm.

Habitat:

Attracted inside by lights at night from suburban back yard.

Notes:

Thanks to Nuwan for ID. Wiki has is 'all over Australia' which begs the question what is it's lif cycle like? Larvae feed upon Maidenhair Fern (Adiantum aethiopicum) see spotting http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/170...

You're so right Hemma... especially with the tiny ones and no glasses. So often I look at the picture and go WOW :) The little pocket camera makes a great magnifying glass for old people.
