Arboreal Ants

Description:

A species of arboreal ants crawling on a tree trunk. About 10mm in length. Red head and thorax, black abdomen and limbs. Photo 1 - ant worker, Photo 2 & 3 - ant soldier. This species of ants are only found high up on trees only, none of them will venture down to the forest floor.

Habitat:

On Dipterocarp trees along the canopy bridge in Bukit Gemuk (Fat Hill), Tawau, Sabah.
