Leaf Katydid

Description:

Both pictures are of different individuals. I spotted one (Pic#1) a day earlier on my own and the following day, I followed a guided night walk. The guide, when hearing a sound, told us that it was made by this Katydid, I was a bit skeptical at first. But he eventually was able to find one that was actively making the sound, which was quite loud. Each time the Katydid make the sound, you can see it opening its wings, as in Pic #2. That was quite cool for the guide to tell us about it and then showed us :)

Habitat:

Tropical forest
