Description:

Wingspan: male 80-100mm, female 90-110. Sexes dimorphic.

Habitat:

Forest edges, parks and gardens. Distribution: Many sspp. in tropical Africa. Common, widespread. Afromontane Forest, along coast from W Cape (George, Knysna) and mountian chain, into Lowland Forest of ECape and Kwazulu-Natal, Riverine and montane forests.

Notes:

Flight period: Year-round in northen areas; abceent from southern forests in winter. Larval food: Xymalos monospara, Oricia swynnertonii. Teclea natalensis, T. nobilis, Clausena anisata, Vepris lancelata and Toddalia asiatica
