Canada goose hybrid

Branta canadensis

Description:

The standing goose is a hybrid offspring of a Canada goose with either a domestic goose or perhaps a snow goose. His mate is a Canada goose. Note his pink rather than black bill and orange legs. So he is evidence of species interaction! :)

Habitat:

Brumley Nature Preserve North. This pair seems to be settling in on a small island in a pond being "maintained" by beavers.
