Thanks Shanna. Hope to find an exact ID for them soon. In the natural light looking at them with the naked eye the mother-of-pearl colours showed up much better.
Very cool.
Thanks marinl. They do look so similar, maybe we have found it? But what type is it I wonder? I have seen the empty eggs casings before but not with any creature within or close to them. The majority of stink bugs nearby were the orange brown ones & the smaller brown shield bugs. My friend said she has just photographed a different one on the citrus so will have a look at that as it could be the parent!
I think I have found the same species. See the second image in the link.
This would suggest your eggs began green but no clue to the ID as yet. http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/782...
Thanks Neil & Mark. I'll certainly be turning every leaf over. I'll have a look at those postings as well to see what matches. They did look a bit different.
Christiane had a spotting very similar to this about a week ago. They look very similar to this - http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/164... Have a look at nymph #2 on this link - http://www.brisbaneinsects.com/brisbane_... What do you think? If these are the same, then they're unidentified. The black spots on the back and particularly the antennae make me think they are. Hope this helps.
Great macro KD. Keep an eye on those citrus trees :)
Thanks MacC. The empty egg casings looked like little pearls with a mother-of-pearl sheen & a neatly removed round top.
Another great Pic KD
