Hypercompe scribonia
Fast-moving caterpillar with black spikes and red spots
Shady oak forest- Hogtown Creek at Alfred Ring Park
This looks like, a Giant Woollybear Caterpillar, from the Giant Leopard Moth.... Genus: Hypercompe Species: scribonia This caterpillar, is all black in color....
A very beautiful caterpillar....
That answer would be more for "How " do they move so fast? For Why? could it be that they are ready to turn into a pupa?
Because they have so many legs! :)
why do caterpillars move so fast?
