Common Ground Cherry

Description:

The Common Ground Cherry is about five centimeters wide and six centimeters long. There are blond leaves next to the cherry. The Common Ground Cherry looks like its stuck next to the cherry next to it. Some cherries have already fallen and wild animals are eating a lot of the cherries, and their population is going down. There is only a small range of the cherries left in the United States of America. At CES’s field area, only six stalks remain. There are very dark colored leaves next to the cherry’s to prove the caterpillars have started eating the cherry’s habitat. That’s why they can’t grow. The cherries grow on dark red vines with leaves going out of the vine. They look like red wire but we all know fruits or veggies can’t grow on wire, right? My picture proves that the caterpillars have starting consuming all of the leaves so their population is going down so the cherries have no place to “Hang Out!”. They don’t have anywhere to live thanks to the caterpillars so that’s why there are only six stalks left at CES’s field’s area. The cherries grow near swampy, marshy, watery areas. I really enjoyed typing this up and learning about the Common Ground Cherry.
