White Sphere Fungus

Description:

A large white fungus growing on a log. Hard and rough surface, also waterproof as you can see water drops still on the fungus surface without being absorbed. Underneath the semi-sphere shaped fungus, there are fungus beetles and fungus flies living and feeding on it. Maximum diameter can be about 150mm in length. Could be a type of Bracket Fungi?

Habitat:

Growing on a rotting log along the forest trail of Bukit Gemuk (Fat Hill), Tawau, Sabah.

Notes:

>>>Map accuracy: 1000m diameter. Spotted this with Dan on the way back.
