Downy Woodpecker

Picoides pubescens

Notes:

I cannot confirm that this individual is the same one that has visited my suet feeder in the past, but I have noticed a downy woodpecker visits the feeder about 30 minutes after dawn and 30 minutes before sundown--rarely at other points during the day. In past years, a downy was a regular visiter between autumn and spring, but this season he has visited only recently. Video: http://youtu.be/6WMXNFh8eM0
