Description:

These gorgeous Owls are winter visitors to India and are best seen in the Little Rann Of Kutch.

Habitat:

Wild Ass Sanctuary encompasses an area of 4953.71 sq. km. of the Little Rann of Kutch, India. Its unique habitat comprises of saline mudflats, marshes, scrubland and large seasonal wetlands.

Notes:

Spotting these well-camouflaged Owls during the day is quite a challenge since they sit all cosily under thorny scrubs to escape the heat of the day. Finding one sitting on a nice perch in the clearing is quite a catch.
