Lesser Flamingo

Phoeniconaias minor

Flaunting the wonderful rosy pink feathers, Lesser Flamingos obtain the pink colours from pigments called carotenoids in the organisms they eat. Did you know Flamingos can only feed with their heads upside down! It enables them to filter out their food while skimming the water.
