Milkwood Pinwheel Flower

Tabernaemontana divaricata

Description:

These flowers were growing on a shrub, about 1.5 meters tall. The flowers' five petals were white and were pinwheel-shaped. Its small center is yellow in color. The flowers were approximately 4-5 cm wide. The leaves are green and are about 8-10 cm long and 5-6 cm wide. Its flowers' buds are green colored.

Habitat:

These flowers were growing at Singapore Botanic Gardens. Even though it just rained out there, they were in an area where they can be exposed to sunlight. I spotted these at 6:30 PM.

Notes:

The Milkwood Pinwheel Flower belongs to the milkwood family, meaning that when its leaves or twigs are broken, they bleed white sap. These flowers are distributed around Asia.
