Description:

Approximately 7 millimeters in body length, colored black and bright orange as shown. Possibly mimics velvet ants.

Habitat:

Found waiting in ambush on a sunflower (Helianthus annuus) along the periphery of a vast open field of grass and yucca.

Quite similar to the red backed jumping spider except for the red thorax.
