Eupelmid wasp

Eupelmidae (family)

Description:

About 3-4 millimeters in body length, shape and color as shown.

Habitat:

Wasp was scurrying around on leaves of common sunflower (Helianthus anuus) at the edge of a vast vacant field of degraded shortgrass prairie with yucca, prickly-pear cacti, and scattered elm trees. A true "waste place," as it is also an industrial dumping ground.

Notes:

Identification provided by the Hymenopterist's Forum on Facebook if I recall correctly.
