Tortoise Beetle

Description:

Mostly brown, but partially transparent shell. Small antennae protrude from under the shell (photo 4). I thought it was Charidotella sexpunctata, but a couple people on bugguide said they thought it might be some other genus.

Habitat:

Underside of a leaf on a tree in hardwoods

Now "that" Tortoise Beetle actually looks like a tortoise. Looks like a Cheridotella <https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Charidotel...> but that is obviously just a guess. Nice spotting Machi.
