Hygrocybe sp.
Brilliant, glowing red, starting out as a small red button on a long thick red or orange stem. The largest one here is about 7/8" across, and 3" high, the ones in photo #2 are about 5/16" across on a 2" stem.
Several of these were found on forest floor in moist forest along the south bank of the Amazon River beneath tall canopy trees occupied by a flock of Hoatzin (prehistoric-looking birds).
