Carolina Anole

Anolis carolinensis

Description:

Two anoles, approximately 7 inches long; greenish-brown colored due to environmental conditions. Both are in the process of shedding skin on their tails, although it’s much more obvious in one than the other.

Habitat:

Feeding on termites that had swarmed from a rotting log.

Notes:

The anole that arrived on the log with the termites displayed its dewlap and intimidated the other anole into leaving.
