Description:

A large butterfly that is easily recognized. They have a wingspan of 8.9–10.2 cm (3.5–4.0 in). It was great to see several of these butterflies at this prairie preserve.

Habitat:

Spotted visiting goldenrod and aster wildflowers at the Rick Evans Grandview Prairie in southwestern Arkansas.
