A worldwide community photographing and learning about wildlife
Setonix brachyurus
A small marsupial (macropod), about the size of a house cat. The species is endemic to Rottnest island, off the coast of Perth, and Bald island, near Albany, WA, Australia.
Prefers dense vegetation and arid scrub lands.
Populations are found on islands where they survive away from threats such as foxes. Although wild, they are used to tourists cycling through the islands and are very curious and 'tame'.
