White-tailed Kite

Elanus leucurus

Description:

Medium size hawk. White head and underside with gray back and wings. Dark gray shoulders and a white tail. White feathers down the yellow legs. Red eyes look sunken with dark lores. Beak is black.

Habitat:

This one was spotted flying over a marsh by the bay.

Notes:

Spotted just after it picked up some kind of rodent in the marsh
