Passer hispaniolensis
The Spanish sparrow, sometimes referred to as Willow sparrow, is a passerine bird of the family Passeridae (sparrows, petronias). Size and general appearance pretty much like House sparrow, except for a chest streaked in black, and a brown crown (instead of grey like House sparrow). Female and juvenile show no difference, and look like their House sparrow counterparts.
Seen all over Malta. Otherwise, it is common in some parts of Mediterranean region: North Africa, Iberian peninsula, parts of Balkan peninsula, south-west to central Asia.
