Mobile twig.
Adjacent to a small stream. Altitude 1000m.
Took me 18 months to find my first phasmid, but research tells me that they are nocturnal, so that explains it. They are also herbivorous, as you can see from the notch in the leaf where I found it feeding. The other images show macros of it feeding.

Jolly - My home is at 900m, I only travel 4Km to my bug safari site. The shot was taken around 9am.
At around 3" in body length, this stick is probably quite young. Their eyes become more developed with each instar and hence more sensitive to light.

Incredible patience. Picture taken at 1000m altitude - this means that you stayed overnight at that altitude to capture this insect?
