Flea leaf beetle

Arsipoda montana

Description:

Small flea leaf beetle about 6mm long.

Habitat:

On broad acacia leaf in a local nature reserve.

Notes:

Alticini spp.? Galerucinae ?
I have only ever seen plain black, blue or brown flea leaf beetles before. This one ran down the leaf to the axil and only when reviewing the pictures I noticed the 'other' creature. No idea what it is but it's a strange shape.
Thanks martinl
